Greystone Affordable Housing Initiatives, LLC
Tanya Eastwood is the President of Greystone Affordable Housing Initiatives, LLC (GAHI), an affiliate of Greystone & Co., Inc. She is responsible for the strategic growth and implementation of Greystone’s affordable housing preservation efforts. GAHI achieves its mission by assisting non-profit and for-profit owners and developers in meeting the challenges associated with the preservation, recapitalization, rehabilitation of affordable housing assets across the U.S. Her team specializes in sourcing creative solutions to complex preservation transactions involving HUD, USDA, and other state and federal agencies. To date, she has facilitated the preservation of approximately 240 of USDA’s existing rd515 properties across the country, with another 175 properties in various stages of redevelopment for 2017/2018.
Ms. Eastwood has been involved in multi-family real estate since 1989, specifically in development, management, fiscal analysis and asset management. Prior to joining Greystone, she was Executive Director of WAJ Management, LLC where she directed the asset management of LIHTC, HUD, and USDA sites located throughout North Carolina. Previous to WAJ, she served an 11 year tenure as Regional Vice President of Development for Forest City Residential Group, a Cleveland based $10 billion publicly traded real estate company, where she concentrated on urban development and adaptive re-use of multifamily sites throughout the eastern US.
Ms. Eastwood holds an active North Carolina Real Estate Broker-In-Charge License. She currently serves as president of the National Council for Affordable and Rural Housing (CARH) and is considered to be one of today’s top innovative leaders in the preservation of affordable housing.
