CARH Professional Designations Information

CARH’s professional designations program is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performances, and designate those leaders in the rural affordable housing industry who demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, dedication and expertise.

CARH’s high competitive Rural and Affordable Housing Executive (RAHE) designation places you among the elite in the rural housing industry. The RAHE recognizes CARH members who have worked in the industry at least five years, with a minimum of two years experience in a supervisory or executive capacity.

CARH’s Rural and Affordable Housing Professional (RAHP) designation offers you the ultimate competitive edge to enhance your career in the rural housing industry. The RAHP recognizes CARH members who have worked in the industry for at least two years, in positions including but not limited to site managers, assistant managers, and occupancy specialists.

CARH’s Rural and Affordable Housing Maintenance Professional (RAHMP) shows you among the top maintenence professionals in the affordable rural housing industry.  The RAHMP designation recognizes maintenance professionals at CARH-member properties who maintain their skills with ongoing training.

Applications are currently being accepted for all CARH designations.  Applications are due by May 19, 2013, in order to be considered by CARH's Certification Board of Review at the 2013 Annual Meeting which will be held in June 9-11.  Designations are valid for two-years.  Please click on the appropriate links below for applications and requirements:

Tax Credit Percentages

For June 2013:

  • Previous Month's Credits

    The IRS publishes monthly credit percentages that apply to low-income housing tax credit buildings placed in service that month.  There are two rates:  the 70% present value credit (PVC) and the 30% present value credit.  The maximum 70% rate is available for low-income new construction and substantial rehabilitation expendiretures that are not federally subsidized.  The maximum 30% rate applies to acquisition expenditures and to federally subsidized low-income new construction or substantial rehabilitation expenditures.

    *Note: The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 provides for a flat minimum percentage of 9% for the 70% present value housing credit for projects placed in service after July 30, 2008.
