1) CARH Announces 2012 Mid-Year Meeting Agenda

CARH is pleased to announce the full agenda for the 2012 Mid-Year Meeting, which will be held from January 22-24 at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans, Louisiana. Click here for a copy of the 2012 Mid-Year Meeting Brochure which contains the full agenda, a list of featured speakers and the registration form. You can also visit the CARH website, www.carh.org, to download the brochure.

As always, during the Mid-Year Meeting, attendees will receive the most up-to-date regulatory and legislative news impacting the affordable rural housing industry. Educational sessions will also be featured during the meeting. As you will see in the brochure, sessions include:

• Housing Forecast for 2012
• Section 538: Successes and New Program Developments

Additionally, all of CARH’s standing committees will meet. The committee chairs want to hear from you! 2) Discounted Registration and Hotel Reservation Deadlines

Friday, December 16th, is the last day you can take advantage of discounted registration rates! Simply complete the registration form and send payment to the CARH national office by close of business December 16, 2011. Registration rates go up December 17th, so make sure you submit your form today! Click here to download the registration form. The form can also be found in the Mid-Year Meeting Brochure as well as online at www.carh.org.

In addition, in order to receive CARH’s special group rate of $209 per night (single or double occupancy) at the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans, attendees must make their reservations with the hotel no later than Thursday, January 5, 2012. Strong attendance is expected at the meeting, so make your reservations as soon as possible. Call the hotel directly at 504-524-1331 and identify yourself as a CARH meeting attendee.

Tax Credit Percentages

  • Previous Month's Credits

    The IRS publishes monthly credit percentages that apply to low-income housing tax credit buildings placed in service that month.  There are two rates:  the 70% present value credit (PVC) and the 30% present value credit.  The maximum 70% rate is available for low-income new construction and substantial rehabilitation expendiretures that are not federally subsidized.  The maximum 30% rate applies to acquisition expenditures and to federally subsidized low-income new construction or substantial rehabilitation expenditures.

    *Note: The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 provides for a flat minimum percentage of 9% for the 70% present value housing credit for projects placed in service after July 30, 2008.
