1) CARH Announces 2016 Annual Meeting & Legislative Conference Brochure and Agenda

CARH is pleased to announce the full agenda for the 2016 Annual Meeting & Legislative Conference, which will be held from June 12-14 at the Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia. You can also visit the CARH website, www.carh.org, to download the brochure.

As always, during the Annual Meeting, attendees will receive the most up-to-date regulatory and legislative news impacting the affordable rural housing industry. CARH has allotted time for attendees to meet with officials from key agencies and organizations and encourages attendees to schedule meetings with their individual members of Congress to discuss the vital issues impacting the industry. Ensuring that there is adequate funding for all affordable housing programs will be a priority on CARH’s legislative agenda.

Educational sessions will also be featured during the meeting. As you will see in the brochure, sessions include:

  • The World of Tax Credits
  • Breaking News from the Section 538 Front
  • Housing By the Numbers: A Look at 2016 Housing Data and What it Means to You
  • Real Estate Taxes: The Appeal Process

  • The Latest from the MPR World

Additionally, CARH’s standing committees will meet. The committee chairs want to hear from you! If you are interested in placing a particular issue on the agenda for any of the following committee meetings, e-mail your suggestion to carh@carh.org.

  • Education and Best Practices Committees (joint session)
  • State Affiliated Association Committee
  • Management Committee
  • Development and Owner Committee (joint session)

Following the committee meetings, CARH’s Board of Directors will hold their meeting, at which the 2016-2017 Executive Officers and Directors will begin their terms.

Also during the meeting, the following special events will be held:

  • Welcoming Luncheon and Washington Report
  • Opening Reception and Raffle (raffle tickets will be on sale throughout the day on Sunday)
  • Lunch with Key Congressional Policy Makers
  • Networking Reception – Tudor Place, Georgetown
  • Awards Breakfast (CARH’s Scholarship Foundation will present their 2016 Scholarship recipients and Rural Development will present their National Site Managers and Maintenance Person of the Year)
  • Industry Trade Show with Exhibitors

2) Hotel Reservation Deadline and Discounted Meeting Registration Deadline May 20th

In order to receive CARH’s special group rate of $264 per night (single or double occupancy) at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City, attendees must make their reservations with the hotel no later than Friday, May 20, 2016. Strong attendance is expected at the meeting, so make your reservations as soon as possible. Call the hotel directly at 703-415-5000 and identify yourself as a CARH meeting attendee.

In addition, register now to take advantage of discounted registration rates! Simply complete the registration form and send payment to the CARH national office by close of business May 20, 2016. Registration rates go up May 21st, so make sure you submit your form today! Click here to download the registration form.
