CARH’s 2022 Midyear Meeting, which will be held January 24-26 at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego, California, is only two months away! As a valued stakeholder in the rural affordable housing industry, you don’t want to miss this important conference!

A detailed brochure listing all sessions, including meeting activities, special events, and recreation opportunities will be available soon. For travel and planning purposes, the meeting will begin at approximately 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 24 and close at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26.

In order to take advantage of CARH’s discounted registration, you must register by Friday, December 17, 2021! To ensure your place at what will undoubtedly be a memorable CARH meeting, simply complete the Registration Form and send it to the CARH national office with your registration payment. Rates will go up on December 18th.

Additionally, hotel reservations should be made directly with the Hotel del Coronado by calling the hotel at 800-468-3533 and reference the Group Code “CARH.” Or reserve online by clicking here. The discounted room rate is $305 per night for single/double occupancy guestroom and $439 per night for ocean view guestrooms. Your hotel reservation must be booked no later than Monday, January 3, 2022.

2)  Awards Nomination Information

As mentioned above, the 2022 Midyear Meeting is fast approaching. During the meeting, CARH’s 2021 Member of the Year, Harry L. Tomlinson, and State Affiliated Association of the Year awards will be presented. The CARH Awards Committee – Rodney Corley, Tanya Eastwood, and Mel Nagata – are now accepting nominations for these awards. All nominations should be sent to the CARH Awards Committee in care of the CARH national office, 116 S. Fayette Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314, no later than Friday, December 31, 2021.

To nominate a CARH member for the Member of the Year award, send a detailed letter to the Awards Committee informing them about the person’s commitment to CARH and to the affordable housing industry in general.

The Harry L. Tomlinson award was established to recognize meritorious achievement by a public servant on the local, state or federal level in furthering affordable and rural rental housing. To nominate an individual for this award, please send the Awards Committee the Nomination Form and supporting documentation which describes nominee’s commitment to CARH and to the affordable housing industry. The State Affiliated Association of the Year award recognizes and encourages excellence in the programs, services and management of CARH’s 14 state affiliated associations. To nominate a state affiliated association for this award, send the Awards Committee the Application and supporting documentation which provides a synopsis of that association’s activities and accomplishments as well as other documentation in support of the application. We would encourage state associations that have been winners in the past to again apply, especially if the association has undertaken some new or unique initiatives.
