CARH is pleased to announce the full agenda for the 2016 Midyear Meeting, which will be held from January 25-27 at the Westin Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. As always, during the Midyear Meeting, attendees will receive the most up-to-date trends and regulatory and legislative news impacting the affordable rural housing industry. Educational sessions will also be featured during the meeting. As you will see in the brochure, sessions include:

Please keep in mind that the conference begins on Monday, January 25 at 8:30 a.m. and concludes on Wednesday, January 27 at 12:15 p.m. Our last day will feature two important workshops that will be general session formats. The first one, The Latest Enforcement Actions by DOJ and Advocacy Groups: Why You Are Going to Re-think Your Business Strategywill explore DOJ’s actions in aggressively bringing enforcement actions against developers of affordable multifamily housing that they have determined are not in compliance with the Fair Housing Act and, in some cases, Section 504 accessibility requirements. In the second workshop, “RD’s Comprehensive Property Assessment and Portfolio Analysis,” panelists will discuss the study being updated that will provide a detailed analysis of RD’s multifamily portfolio. RD officials will give preliminary analysis to attendees and recommendations will be reviewed against current implementation of the Multifamily Preservation and Revitalization demonstration program and the Preliminary Assessment Tool. When making your travel arrangements, please make sure that your schedule allows you to attend these important sessions!

Hotel reservations should be made directly with the Westin Riverwalk Hotel by calling (210) 224-6500 and referencing the Council for Affordable and Rural Housing to receive the special discounted rates. Or, click here, to reserve a room online. Please note, discounted hotel rates expire on January 5, 2016. Registrants will receive a special rate of $209 per night for City View rooms and $229 for River View rooms, both single/double occupancy. Strong attendance is expected at the meeting, so make your reservations as soon as possible.
