Midyear Meeting — Information and Special Sessions; Presentations/Meeting Materials
MIDYEAR MEETING ATTENDEES
CARH’S BROADCAST E-MAIL – Midyear Meeting
January 17, 2017
1) Information and Special Sessions
CARH’s Midyear Meeting is less than a week away! In advance of the meeting, we wanted to inform our members that an additional General Session has been added to the meeting on Wednesday, January 25th from 8:00 – 9:15 a.m. A summary of the session is below:
- Rural Housing Service Rapid Improvement – Annual Financial Reporting
USDA RHS Portfolio Management is currently undertaking a Lean Six Sigma process improvement project for MFH Borrower Annual Reports. With help from CARH members, borrowers, management companies, and Rural Development (RD) field staff, the team has identified a need to develop a streamlined and consistent review process for Proposed Budgets and Annual Financial Reports. This session will discuss the process and the progress made on this initiative – ten potential improvements that will achieve the stated goal.
Additionally, attendees are reminded of the importance of attending the final session of the meeting, Catchall Preservation Roundtable, on Wednesday from 10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Representatives from the Housing Assistance Council (HAC) and the Urban Institute will participate in a roundtable discussion to discuss RD’s current preservation policies, as well as address, and get feedback from attendees on, the contract RD has with HAC to provide analysis and recommendations for addressing the future of the agency’s multifamily portfolio.
Finally, don’t forget to bring your checkbook to the Networking Reception at the Ritz Carlton Beach Club on Tuesday, January 24th! There will be a Scholarship Foundation fundraiser to support the Foundation’s mission in promoting education and expanding opportunities for residents of affordable housing in rural America.
2) Electronic Presentations/Meeting Materials at Midyear Meeting
This memo serves as a reminder that all presentations and documents that will be presented or discussed during CARH’s standing committee meetings and individual sessions will be available on the CARH website, www.carh.org, by COB Friday, January 20th. Attendees are encouraged to view and/or download the materials before or during the meeting. Materials will be available on the home page and in the Meetings section of the website.
Although you will not receive a printed binder, you will still receive hard copies of the meeting schedule, agendas, bios and attendee lists.
We look forward to seeing you next week at the Midyear Meeting. If you have any questions, please contact the CARH national office at or 703-837-9001 or carh@carh.org.
