1) Board of Directors Questionnaire for Candidates Due May 31st – Five Open Positions

Serving on the CARH Board of Directors is an excellent opportunity to actively support your organization and to help develop policies and initiatives that will positively impact the affordable rural housing industry. CARH is seeking members to fill five board openings that will become available in June. Board terms are two years and board members may serve two consecutive terms.

If you are interested in serving on the board, please submit a completed Questionnaire for Candidates to the national CARH office by the close of business on Friday, May 31, 2024. The questionnaire represents an expression of interest in a board position and serves as a substitute for a letter of interest. Please email the completed questionnaire to carh@carh.org by the due date.

The CARH Nominating Committee will carefully review each questionnaire and recommend new directors. CARH members will vote on the recommended candidates at the General Membership Meeting, during CARH’s Annual Meeting scheduled for June 24-26, 2024. Board members will begin their terms at the June Board of Directors meeting, which also takes place during the Annual Meeting.

2) CARH Annual Meeting “Early Bird” Registration Discount Ends Tuesday, April 30th 

CARH’s 2024 Annual Meeting & Legislative Conference is quickly approaching! The meeting will be held June 24-26 at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia. Click here to read our March 19th Broadcast Email announcing the meeting.

To take advantage of “early bird” registration discounts, submit your registration form and payment to the CARH National Office by Tuesday, April 30, 2024. You can also download registration information by visiting the CARH website, www.carh.org. Meeting registration fees will increase on May 1st, so register now to get the best price!

Additionally, CARH has arranged for a preferred group rate at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City. Please reserve your room by Friday, May 31, 2024, to receive the discounted rate of $304 per night, single or double occupancy. For reservations, please call the hotel reservation line at 800-422-2410 and identify yourself as part of the “Council for Affordable and Rural Housing” or “CARH” group. Strong attendance is expected, so we encourage all CARH members to make your reservations as soon as possible and before the rooms within our meeting block sell out.

The official detailed Annual Meeting & Legislative Conference brochure, which includes information on daily committee meetings, educational and training sessions, and special events, will be sent to CARH members next month. However, for travel planning purposes, the meeting will begin at approximately 8:00 a.m., Monday, June 24th and adjourn at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26th.
