The ACTION Campaign, which CARH is a steering committee member, put out the following:

ACTION ACTION Alert: Urgent Housing Credit Advocacy Needed!

Legislators and the White House have been in close communication over the last few days with a goal of releasing a new framework for a downsized Build Back Better reconciliation bill as soon as tomorrow, with rumors that the $3.5 trillion legislation could now total less than $2 trillion. While negotiations continue, ACTION members should again reach out to Democratic Members of Congress to urge them to make direct contact with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and with the White House to stress the importance of maintaining the current Housing Credit provisions in the final package. Final decisions are being made now, so your immediate advocacy is critical. The most impactful action your Senators and House members can take is to speak directly to their leadership and the White House, rather than leaving those communications to their staff.

ACTION has developed messaging options Housing Credit advocates can use in this outreach. For congressional staff contact information or to ask questions, please reach out to Krista D’Alessandro at kdalessandro@enterprisecommunity.org for additional support.
