HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing sent out the following information on February 26, 2026:
The Office of Multifamily Housing Programs has issued Housing Notice 2026-02, “Suspension of CNA eTool Submission and HUD Review Requirement for Capital Needs Assessments for Asset Management.” This Notice immediately suspends the requirement to use the CNA eTool for 10-year updated Capital Needs Assessments and suspends HUD’s Asset Management review of those submissions.
Owners must still submit 10-year updated CNAs; however, they are no longer required to use the CNA eTool, and HUD’s Asset Management staff will no longer review these submissions. The suspension applies to all current and ongoing 10-year updated CNA eTool reviews.
