Today, Jonathan Bell, Director, Production & Preservation Division of Rural Development’s Multifamily Office sent out an announcement titled, Timeframes for Closing Calendar Year-End 2026 Transactions.
The announcement states in full:
Rural Housing Service (RHS) is motivated to support applicants’ calendar year-end 2026 transactions. To ensure a smooth and timely closing process, please submit all required documentation—including executed conditional commitments, letters of conditions, third-party reports, organizational documents, and construction documents—by Friday, October 2, 2026.
RHS is committed to helping applicants achieve their goals and will prioritize critical, time-sensitive transactions. Clear communication of key deadlines and closing dates will help RHS serve applicants even better. Please note that changes to transactions or entity structures may affect the timeline. If applicants cannot meet the October 2 deadline, the agency will gladly coordinate a closing date with applicants after January 1, 2027.
