We are pleased to announce the release of the revised Multifamily Rental Project Closing Forms (OMB Control No. 2502-0598) set to expire on 12/31/2027, for applicable transactions as follows:
Effective Date
The revised Closing Forms will be required for transactions with firm commitments issued on or after April 1, 2026.
Transition Period
To support a smooth and orderly transition, transactions with firm commitments issued prior to April 1, 2026, may use either:
- The prior version (2018, Exp. 9/30/2021), or
- The revised version of the Closing Forms
Beginning April 1, 2026, only the revised Closing Forms will be accepted.
Availability of Forms
- Prior versions of the Closing Forms (2018) will be archived on the HUD website and can be accessed here: Archived Closing Forms.
- The revised forms (Exp. 12/31/2027) are available here: Revised Closing (HUD-9) Forms in PDF and DOCX format and may be accessed by form number.
This transition period is intended to provide FHA Multifamily lenders and partners time to update internal systems, templates, and compliance procedures. We appreciate your continued partnership and cooperation in implementing these updates. Additional guidance or technical instructions will be issued as necessary.
